Your TWU / JetBlue IFC Negotiating Team (NT) has just concluded a three-day negotiating session with JetBlue Management in Washington, D.C. We exchanged counterproposals with management on the following articles:

  • Exchange of Trips
  • Reserve
  • Rescheduling

While we did not reach full tentative agreements for the Contract, we held productive discussions with Management, and we made progress on all topics. Your NT will evaluate the Company’s proposals and prepare responses for the next negotiating session, October 7–11, in New York.

We are also pleased to announce that your NT has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for an IFC Peer Observer Program, which will allow a TWU-trained Peer Observer to accompany our JetBlue IFCs to investigatory meetings that could lead to discipline. The TWU has established programs similar to the Peer Observer Program at other airlines, and they have proven to be an important first step to contractual grievance protections.

The MOU becomes effective on October 1, so it is imperative that we begin training as soon as possible. We will make training available through an online teleconference webinar during the last half of September. The training sessions are usually about one hour in length. We will hold trainings on multiple dates and times. If you would like to be trained as an IFC Peer Observer, please submit your application on the website. We will finalize the training schedule based on the preference and availability of volunteers. If you have any questions about the IFC Peer Observer program, please hit reply on this message, or send them to b6twu@twu.org.
