Ask Your Legislators to Support the Cabin Air Safety Act of 2019

“Toxic cabin air” has been a consistent issue for JetBlue Inflight Crewmembers. Many IFCs have experienced cabin air events that have led to flight diversions and delays. We’ve even seen IFCs sickened in these events, and many of you have raised the the alarm to the Transport Workers Union (TWU).

The TWU has been fighting for the rights of all of our members to work in a safe environment while on the aircraft. We have safety reporting options in place for all of our members and an active and engaged TWU / JetBlue IFC Health & Safety committee working for you. The TWU has also engaged with JetBlue management about cabin air quality both in and out of negotiations.

The Cabin Air Safety Act of 2019 is federal legislation that has been introduced by Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) and Representative John Garamendi (D-CA). This legislation establishes education regulations and mandatory, federal reporting guidelines, which are important steps to ensuring we have a work environment that is safe for all of our IFCs.

The Transport Workers Union and your TWU / JetBlue IFC Legislative Committee fully endorse this important bill.
