Negotiations Update—December 5, 2019

Your TWU JetBlue IFC Negotiating Team (NT) has just concluded a four-day negotiating session with JetBlue Management in New York. We exchanged proposals on the following articles:

  • Rescheduling
  • Bidding
  • Scheduling

While we did not reach any full Tentative Agreements in this session, we held productive discussions on these important issues. Your NT will evaluate the Company’s proposals and be prepared to respond at the next session on January 6–9 in New York. Your NT and Management also agreed to dates for an additional negotiating session March 16–19.

As your NT moves forward through scheduling-related articles, we are developing a comprehensive economic proposal to begin the final phase of our historic first contract. After the holidays, we will send you an economic survey as a follow up to the comprehensive survey that we sent at the start of negotiations.

The TWU IFC Peer Observer Program continues to be a valuable resource for our IFCs. Please remember that if you are notified that Management is requesting a meeting that could result in discipline, submit a request for a Peer Observer as soon as possible to allow sufficient time to request a Peer Observer volunteer. We are holding a training session for new Peer Observers on Thursday, December 12 at Noon, EST. If you would like to volunteer to be a Peer Observer and attend the next training, please complete this form.

If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions for your NT, please do not hesitate to contact us. An informed and involved Membership is the key to our success.
