Today’s TWU/JetBlue IFC Ratification Vote

Earlier today, TWU International Administrative Vice President and Air Division Director, Mike Mayes, announced that the TWU/JetBlue Tentative Agreement (TA) was not ratified. We have attached the numbers and percentages from BallotPoint, the secure election company who conducted the ratification vote.

We would like to thank everyone who participated in the election and especially the Contract Action Team Members who worked side-by-side with us to try and make sure our IFCs had the most accurate information to cast an informed vote.

Our Team faced exceptional challenges during both the negotiation and ratification efforts, due to the impact of COVID-19; however, we understood that securing the guarantees and protection of a legally binding contract benefits all of our IFCs, which is vital during these uncertain times for us and our entire industry.

We now face the reality that the TA failed, which puts everything back on the table. We will conduct a comprehensive survey to focus on IFC priorities going forward. We will create the survey as soon as possible. We hope to release it within a few weeks to allow IFCs adequate time to complete it before the holidays. This will give us time to evaluate the results and draft new language before we return to the table. We do not have any meetings scheduled with JetBlue, at this time, so we hope to return to bargaining sometime in the first quarter of 2021.

Thank you for your continued support. Now, more than ever, it is important for us to remain informed and united.

In solidarity,
