The TWU has received several emails regarding changes to the Inflight Scheduling Manual (ISM) that JetBlue management arbitrarily and arrogantly implemented on June 11. First, and most importantly, we want you to know that your union was not aware of these changes and did not agree to them.

Management has stated that these changes are not new but are a clarification of their current practice. However, that “current practice” is in direct contrast with the language and intent of the previous language in the ISM. These arbitrary changes are unacceptable and demonstrate how important it is to have a contract that cannot be changed or misinterpreted at management’s whim. That’s why JetBlue IFCs voted for the TWU — America’s Fighting Democratic Union — to represent us.

This is not the first time management has made arbitrary changes to IFC work rules, and we don’t expect it to be the last. We’ve even been able to fight back and have some of those changes rescinded. To do that, your NT has formed a Contract Action Team to ensure that our members are part of that fight and are getting accurate and up-to-date information.

If you would like to join this important team, please submit your information at the website.

United we stand!
