TWU Negotiations Update – 02-15-2019

Your Negotiating Team (NT) has just completed a four-day bargaining session with Jetblue Management in New York. Your NT and Management were able to reach one Tentative Agreement on Language of Destination (except for the compensation portion, which will be negotiated during economic discussions). Your NT and Management also exchanged proposals on the following articles:

  • Commuter Policy
  • Training
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)

We held a productive discussion on these open items, and they will be further explored at the next session. Your Union also finalized a letter of agreement to include IFCs on the Jetblue Hotel Committee.

During the negotiating session this week, your NT had the opportunity to meet Edward Baklor, Jetblue’s new Vice President of Inflight Experience. While Mr. Baklor is not participating in IFC negotiations at this time, he did stop by to introduce himself.

Your NT also participated in an informal “meet and greet” at Hangar 11 in Kew Gardens after the negotiating session on February 13. The event was a great success, and your NT got the chance to meet with IFCs to answer questions and discuss recommendations for our historic first contract. The NT will be planning additional opportunities to meet together in the future.

The next negotiating session is scheduled for March 19–22 in New York. We have also scheduled the following future dates:

  • April 17–18
  • April 23–26
  • May 13–16

We are pleased to have these additional dates to meet at the negotiating table as we progress into important work rule and quality of life issues. If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to contact your NT at b6nt@twu.org
