Congratulations, JetBlue IFCs

John Samuelsen
International President of The Transport Workers Union of America

One year ago today, you and your coworkers made history.

You voted overwhelmingly to band together and unionize. You voted overwhelmingly to have a stronger voice in your workplace. You voted overwhelmingly to join the Transport Workers Union, so that you and your fellow IFCs could negotiate the terms of your employment with JetBlue’s bosses.

TWU International President John Samuelsen

Your negotiating committee has been working extremely hard to hash out your first contract (which will encompass wages, work rules, and other areas of concern) with JetBlue management. This is an ongoing, tedious, and, at times, contentious process.

We are absolutely committed to keeping you informed. To that end, I will be convening a Telephone Town Hall for all JetBlue Inflight Crewmembers at Noon (EDT) on May 17th. Save the date. We will provide the call-in number and other information in the coming weeks. Don’t just mark the date on your calendar. Tell your friends and co-workers. Spread the word, and encourage them to register on the website, so they can receive the call information directly.

Congratulations on the anniversary of your historic vote. I’ll talk to you on May 17th.
