Your TWU / JetBlue IFC Negotiating Team (NT) has just concluded a three-day negotiating session with JetBlue Management in New York. Since Marc Esposito, former JetBlue Vice President of Values Relations and lead negotiator for JetBlue Management, has resigned to take a position at Delta, the Company has brought in Jerry Glass, a third-party consultant who negotiates contracts throughout the industry, to advise them going forward.
We are pleased to report that we reached one Tentative Agreement on Commuter Policy. Your NT cannot discuss specifics of tentative agreements, because they are not considered final until a full agreement has been reached and released to the IFCs for a vote.
We also discussed the following articles:
Your NT and Management exchanged proposals on these articles, and we will continue to discuss them at our next negotiating session on August 21–23 in New York.
Your NT also discussed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that would allow trained IFCs to attend investigatory meetings, that could result in discipline for an IFC, prior to us reaching a ratified contract with a Grievance Process. The TWU has worked with Management to develop these programs at other carriers, and they have been very successful. While we have not reached a final agreement, we look forward to launching the program as soon as we have agreed on the terms of the MOU.
